Who is Courtney Gilmore?
Born in Portland, Oregon, Courtney has worked internationally as a makeup artist for the past 12 years - as a trainer, teacher and freelancer. She has covered everything from fashion and celebrities to television and music videos. In 2006, Courtney won a prestigious 200 Worlds Best Print Ads, from Lurzer’s Archive for Nike.

What is The Makeup Project?
The Makeup Project is the first prestige cosmetics company to come from the NW. The Makeup Project was created to satisfy Courtney’s desire to create beautifully crafted lip gloss of the highest quality, packaged in limited-edition art. Immaculate, a collection of six limited-edition, lemon-cake scented lip glosses, is Courtney's first collection.
The industry’s highest standards in formulation and production allow The Makeup Project lip gloss to be sold in US, European and Japanese markets. Crafted in Italy, each gloss contains superior non-comedogenic ingredients, filmogenic polymers for added volume and lasting shine, and vitamins to keep lips soft. The Makeup Project lip gloss also boasts anti-bacterial properties, and is not tested on animals.

What is the inspiration behind the debut collection?
Each art depicts the Virgin Mary emerging from six different everyday environments. For thousands of years, people say they have witnessed the sudden appearance of the Virgin Mary, often in the strangest places. “The message I want to send people,” says Courtney, “is that they can find inspiration anywhere – they just have to be open to it. You never know where you will be or what you will be doing, when a great idea suddenly pops into your head.” Courtney also chose the Virgin Mary because she’s a very positive and powerful female image.
